hey everyone
Just got back from a 5 week KV and the Violators tour. Super smooth as always. Good people everywhere and the playing just got better and better. We toured with our buddies Purling Hiss from philly and they ripped it every night.
Before I left, myself and Dave spent a week in asheville, NC at Echo Mountain studios where we continued work on the LP thats never gonna be done. ha! seriously its not! But we made great progress and the tones are really starting to take shape. The full band recorded a new version of 'Brothers' when we were there the first time in september and that sounds killer. Anyway we ended up mixing 6 songs but I need to go back in and keep tweakin em. So those mixes are pointless... We did get to work on an API 3224 console though. They also have an EMI sidecar from Abbey Road and a rhodes with an intense square wave trem on it. We ate a ton of Cookout and also used the eventide harmonizer quite a bit. I sang through a vintage Telefunken M254-->Neve1078 but unfortunately ill be singing those parts again...probably through a sm57 directly into the space echo. aaaanyway...check out those sweet tour dates below and keep an eye out for stuff in 2011 like a movie and a few new records.
